TAP Resource Center

Description

The Autism Program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (TAP-UIUC) is part of a state-wide network of resources for Autism Spectrum Disorders in the state of Illinois.  TAP-UIUC is one of five Regional Training Centers in the network, and is a joint program of the Department of Human and Community Development and the Department of Special Education.  The Autism Program Resource Center is housed in the Family Resiliency Center (FRC) and provides a place where families and professionals can find information or preview materials that might be helpful to them.

Materials Available

Many different types of materials are available in the TAP Resource Room.  All of our materials are free, and can be customized to meet individualized needs. TAP staff and student interns are available to meet in person or via phone/email to collectively brainstorm creative problem-solving solutions. Many of our materials can also be translated to Spanish. These materials include:

  • Books and DVD’s for checkout
  • Teaching kits containing structured teaching activities for checkout
  • Learning aids
  • Free give away items
  • Flyers, articles, brochures, and booklets from local, state, and national organizations which are free to the public
  • Resource books full of free fact sheets, articles and handouts

 

Services Available
  • Referrals: The TAP staff is available not only to help visitors to locate and utilize materials within the center, but also to make referrals to community agencies and organizations outside the center.
  • Training and Technical Assistance 
  • Individual consultations available by appointment

Resource Center Hours

Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Tuesday/Thursday: 9:00am - 6:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am - Noon
Sunday: Closed

**The first Thursday of each month we are open until 8:30pm**

Hours may be shorter during summer and university breaks
