Illinois Early Childhood Activity Program (I-CAP): Assessing Physical Activity From Circuits to Communities Project

Overview | Research Team | Funding Partners | Contact

Project Overview

The Illinois Early Childhood Activity Program (I-CAP) project workshop series plans to advance the field of physical activity research by developing methods of assessing activity in preschool age children which can be used in natural environments. The research team cuts across both the Urbana and Chicago campuses and will combine scholarly expertise in computer engineering, social media, kinesiology, community health, family health, neuroscience, child development, child care, health disparities, parks and recreation, and public health. The NIH R13 funded project will feature four workshops that will be held over the next two years to help integrate theoretical frameworks across disciplines.
